Darwin Part Two - Crocosaurus Cove

On the Sunday, we decided to go to Crocosaurus Cove (http://www.crocsauruscove.com/) in Darwin town centre for the day.  There they have a big aquarium with heaps of different fish including the vvv tasty barramundi and pig-nosed turtles in it which we saw being fed which was cool.

We also saw some junior crocodiles.  They keep lots of them in an enclosure together to stop any of them become dominant and attacking the others....  There all looked quite scared and were huddled together in a corner.

They were also some juvenile crocodiles which were also held in a large pen.  A number of people were invited to come and help feed them from fishing rods (but not us - rubbish)... The little crocs were amazing and could be made to jump quite high for some of their food!

We also saw quite a few adult crocodiles who were kept in captivity for one reason or another.  It was all a bit twee and they had made up personalities for each of them......

There was also a good display of other crocodilians from other parts of the world and an excellent reptile house.  It was not possible for us to visit Crocodylus Park near Darwin Airport as the buses do not run at the weekend (go figure that one!) and it would have cost a fortune in a taxi.  However, Crocosaurus Cove was definately worth the admission fee if you have not seen many crocodiles or want something to do in Darwin (there is not much to do there!!!!)
